I would like to know if there is any extension available for VS2017.

Some of my projects in VS2015 use ActiveReports9 while a few use ActiveReports10

If I migrate them to VS2017, would I have any issues with ActiveReports not being compatible

    Thanks.

I would really like an answer to the first part of the question. Is there a way to get ActiveReports item templates installed in VS 2017?

Since AR9 and AR10 were released much before VS2017, the installers won’t know to add templates to VS. Sorry for the inconvenience.

However, you can open your application with AR9 and AR10 in VS2017 without any issues. You just won’t be able to add new reports from the VS Template.

The latest version i.e v11 supports VS2017 and you may download it from -https://www.grapecity.com/en/activereports-developer

I have managed to get the AR item templates from someone who has VS 2013. Would one of your developers give a detailed list of steps to incorporate that in the list of installed templates? Copying the zips into the existing installed templates directory isn’t enough. It would go a long way towards customer satisfaction if I can do that in the mean time. it will take time to upgrade us to AR 11.

We have had requests from customers asking for support of new VisualStudio versions in older versions of ActiveReports. It is not possible to install the templates just by copy pasting some files, etc. It is a complex process and is done by the installer. I’m sure you would understand that it is very tedious to maintain code base of so many different versions. Hence our product management team had decided not to keep updating the code base of older AR versions to support new versions of VS. Sorry for the inconvenience.
