    Hello,

Last week I installed version 18 on my computer and converted my project.

    I upgraded all the packages…

Now, when I open the project in the report designer, I get this error (Image1).

To solve the error, I have to downgrade this package (Image2), and then I can open the designer, but I get an error when I run it.

If I upgrade the packages again, it works fine.

The problem is that if I close the project, when I open it again I get the same error and have to repeat the process.

    Can someone help me?

    Hello Jose,

    Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

ActiveReports designer needs the particular version of DsImaging API to work and for ActiveReports 18, it needs to be version 7.2.2.

We suggest you to check your project file and set the DsImaging reference version to the particular version.

If you still face the issue, please share your stripped-down sample replicating the issue so that we can assist you further accordingly.

    Regards,

    Prabhat Sharma.

    1. Open Project
    2. It shows the error

    3. Downgrade the file version from 7.2.3 to 7.2.2

    4. These files are updated

    5. Once they are updated, I close the report designer and open again correctly.
    6. I run the project and try to run a report, but I get this new error:

    7. So, I update to the version 7.2.3 again.

    8. The same files are updated again:

    9. Now, I can open the designer and show the report without errors.
    10. I have to do the same thing every time I open the project.

I can’t run the project with the version 7.2.2. I can not see the reports.

    Hello Jose,

    We understand your concern.

We need to check it in your sample to investigate this issue more closely as we do not face it at our end in the new stripped-down sample.

Kindly share your stripped-down sample as asked in our previous response.

    Hello,

I can’t upload the zip file with the project.

It is too big because I have 3 packages installed from each one.

How can I remove the old version of the packages?

I uninstall some of them but the folder is not removed.

2 options to get the project:

    Option 1

I have removed the “packages” folder… I guess that you have to download the packages to fix a few errors that you get when you run it.

    Fichajes_AR.zip

    Option 2

The project with packages is in wetransfer, you can download with this link:

    Anything, let me know.

    Hello Jose,

Thank you for sharing your sample.

We can observe the issue in your attached sample and also can see that you are using the old ActiveReports packages in your sample so we just removed the old packages and added the new one with the Mescius prefix in it. It works fine, please see the attached screenshot for reference:

To update the references, you can add a new ActiveReports 18 Code-Based Report in your project via Visual Studio, it will add all the required packages.

And update your Licenses.licx file with the following entries:

    GrapeCity.ActiveReports.Viewer.Win.Viewer, Mescius.ActiveReports.Viewer.Win

    GrapeCity.ActiveReports.SectionReport, Mescius.ActiveReports

If you still face any issue, please let us know.

    Regards,

    Prabhat Sharma.

I have added the new AR 18 report and update the license file but I have errors…

I am going to start again.

Please, can you tell me how I should remove the old packages?

    Thanks

    Hello,

You can remove the packages by removing their entries from the packages.config file and then removing from the References in the Solution Explorer.

    Ok, It works fine!

    One more thing.

When I am going to add a new element, I can see the reports of old versions, 16 and 17 in my project.

Should I keep or remove these old versions?

How can I remove the old versions (16 and 17)?

    Hello Jose,

It seems ActiveReports 18 version is not installed in your machine. You can install the latest version of AR 18 from the given link:

    https://cdn.grapecity.com/ActiveReports/ar18/ActiveReports-v18.2.3.1534.exe

You can uninstall the old version directly from the System’s control panel.

    Hello,

Now, when I open the project and when it is running, everything is ok.

I have updated the 18 version, but the templates are the same as the last picture.

I think it is not a problem for me at this moment.

    Thanks for your help Prabhat.

    Regards.
