    Hi team,

Currently we are planning to upgrade Active Report 6 to Active Reports 12 in our application.

When i’m trying to upgrade to Active reports 12 from Active reports 6 through “convert to ActiveReports 12” i’m getting an error asking for a file which is not present in our application.

So can you let me know how can i proceed further and is there any manual way to solve this issue or is there any manual way to upgrade Active reports 12 from active reports 6.

    Best Regards,

    Pavan G

    Hello Pavan,

You can check after ignoring the error message. If the application is not upgraded, then you can manually update the application to AR12 using the following link:

    https://help.grapecity.com/activereports/webhelp/AR12/webframe.html#Upgrading%20Reports.html

    https://help.grapecity.com/activereports/webhelp/AR12/webframe.html#BreakingChanges.html

    https://help.grapecity.com/activereports/webhelp/AR12/webframe.html#MigratingVer6.html

    https://help.grapecity.com/activereports/webhelp/AR12/webframe.html#MigratingAssemblyReference.html

    https://help.grapecity.com/activereports/webhelp/AR12/webframe.html#MigratingLicenseInfo.html

You can also send us the application. So that we can replicate the issue at our end and assist you further accordingly.

Please feel free to revert if you still have some questions.

    Thanks.

    Hi Mohit,

    Thanks for the update.

When i’m trying to convert to Active Reports 12 i’m getting an error so i have attached the error in the attachment.

Also sorry to say this i cannot share you the application code.

If it is ok we can have a screen sharing session to show you the issue.

Convert tool is expecting .vhost.application in one of the bin folder in the solution and there is no such file in our total solution.

    Best Regards,

    Pavan G

    Pavan,

Please delete the bin/obj of your project. Also, change all the code related to AR6 according to the following documentation link:

    https://help.grapecity.com/activereports/webhelp/AR12/webframe.html#BreakingChanges.html

Also, Please make sure you have the correct reference of AR12 in your project(WebConfig, License.licx, dll reference).

    Hope it helps.

    Hi,

I have done all the changes now.

I got the below error seems the AR12 dlls haven’t got replaced with the existing AR6 dlls.

Can you guide me on how to generate the dlls.

    Regards,

    Pavan

Please delete the all AR6 related dll and after that, add the dll of AR12 in your project. You can refer the attached documentation link for the reference:

Also, note that AR12 supports .Net FW 4.5.2 or higher. Kindly, upgrade your application to 4.5.2 or higher FW.

    Hi,

Currently we are using the 4.0 version.

So i understood that we have to go for the updated version and we are planning to update the version to 4.6 which can support AR 12.

If we are updating from 4.0 to 4.6 do we need to do any changes ?

    Regards,

    Pavan

    Hello,

You don’t need to change the code of AR if you upgrade to 4.6 .Net FW. However, I am not sure about other code in your application.

    Thanks.

If you are not using any component of “C1.Win.C1FlexGrid.Classic.2” in your project then please delete the license entry of the same in the “Licenses.licx” file.

If the issue still occurs, could you please provide detail of the issue with the screenshots.

    Hi,

We are using “FlexGrid” in our application .

I have even tried deleting the C1.Win.C1FlexGrid.Classic.2.dll from the references still i’m getting the error .

I cannot delete it from the reference because we are using it in our project.

Also i just wanted to know weather C1.Win.C1FlexGrid.Classic.2.dll is supported in AR12 or not ?

If not should we upgrade to the latest version ?

If Yes. Let us know on how to upgrade the Flex Grid version.

    Regards,

    Pavan

    Hello,

C1FlexGridClassic and ActiveReports both are different products. There are not dependent on each other. You can use the “C1FLexGridClassic” in your sample. Please add the C1FLexGridClassic dll in your references of the project and add the following line in the “Licenses.licx”

    C1.Win.C1FlexGrid.Classic.C1FlexGridClassic, C1.Win.C1FlexGrid.Classic.2.

Please recheck after clearing the bin/obj folder.

Also, there is a new version of C1FLexGridClassic is available. you can download the same from the following location:

    https://www.grapecity.com/en/download/componentone-studio

    Thanks.
