I use the last version of AR 12.1 for export SectionReport with picture inside to Excel.
XLSExport crashes.

This occurs due to the large image size(3 MB). If I compress it to 50KB then issue is not reproducible. Excel Export works fine.
Could you please confirm if above workaround is acceptable to you.

I modified sample. SectionReportApplication2.zip
It seems, you need to close or release something, when you export pictures to Excel.

After install 12.1.13655.0 it still crashes. I modified records count to 2000 in my sample.

As I said earlier, issue is fixed in internal build. However, I have requested the developer team to provide the hotfix for the same.

After installing hotfix the export crash fixed.
Excel export output appears garbled in my sample.

This is the design behavior of XLsExport. XlsExport is not WYSIWYG. If you want WYSIWYG, you need to use the Page/RDL report with Excel RE.

First, I did not ask to export WYSIWYG.
Secondly, in this case the picture disappears. It seems, you render the picture in clip mode instead of stretch mode.
