We have recently updated from version 6 of Active Reports to version 11.3. Exporting to Excel now does not appear to keep the format cell category setting like it used to. We used to see number/amount cells in Excel after the Export but now they are being converted to text. Therefore all the formulas that use these numbers no longer work as they have text instead of the expected numbers. Any ideas? Thank you guys

    Hello Mike,

There have been many changes and enhancements in ActiveReports since version 6. To export the number/amount cells with correct format to Excel, please set the OutputFormat property of the TextBox to ‘Number’.

    Thanks

Do you have an example of this? Thank you

I have attached a SectionReport (rpx file) where the OutputFormat of the Quantity textbox in the Detail section is set to Number. When this report is run and exported to Excel, the number format is retained. Kindly change the datasource path before running the report.Orders.zip

Greeting - We haven’t been able to resolve this issue. The SectionReport that we are exporting (using XlsExport class) doesn’t have a TextBox to change the OutputProperty format to 'Number". Hence my confusion and difficulty fixing the issue. Thanks for any/all help and suggestions!

In that case, it’ll be really helpful if you could attach your report here for me to look into and find a solution for you.

    Thanks

Working on how best to do that for you. In the meantime, the document that we are passing into XlsExport.Export has WrapMode set to WordWrap. Do you have an example of how we can change that to NoWrap as we are running into issues with word wrapping on when exporting to excel. Thank you for all your help!

If you’re using the Label or TextBox control, you can set their WrapMode properties to NoWrap. But if you’re not, I would need your application with the report where I can see the behavior.

    Thanks

Finally getting a chance to get back to this issue, what exactly should I submit to you so you can see the behavior? Thank you,

    Hi Mike,

I would need your report file (if it’s an rpx) or your application (if it’s a code-based SectionReport) and the datasource that the report uses.

    Thanks
