    I would like to be able to create a box/place/control on a report where I could have the end user digitally sign on a PDF in the web viewer in specific places on the page. For example, initial on specific lines and digitally sign at the bottom of the page. I’ve digitally signed PDF’s myself so I know it’s possible to have a PDF like that, just don’t know if its possible in Active Reports. I use Active Reports v11.1.9726.0 Professional.

    Please refer to the following documentation link which talks about Digitally Signing a Pdf file - http://help.grapecity.com/activereports/webhelp/AR12/webframe.html#PDFDigitalSignaturesSample.html

    It actually refers to a demo sample which gets installed on your machine in the GrapeCity Samples folder and demonstrates how to digitally sign a Pdf.

    Thanks but I’ve looked at that sample and it doesn’t quite do what I need. I need to have users be able to digitally initial and digitally sign a PDF in specific places in the document. I’m looking at C# and VB code that’s out there, apparently it can be done post PDF creation and before I send it to the viewer. If I can get something working, I’ll post it here.

    The sample application I’ve referred to is the only way you can add a digital signature to the pdf through ActiveReports. Please do share if you find another solution to it.

    @abdias.michael,

    I understand that, I’m looking at a couple of 3rd party solutions, iTextSharp and Secure Blackbox. I’m not sure if either will do exactly what I 'm looking for or even if there is any particular way to do what I’m looking for. I just may go the route indicated in the sample and digitally the entire document placing faux “signatures” where needed.

    Since you’re looking for the user to digitally sign the pdf file, you could ask the user to enter the text (through a textbox) or an image (through file upload) and then add that to the Report pdf just like in the demo application, and then send it in the response to be viewed or downloaded by the user.
