I have seen many messages about the licenses.licx. My visual studio has been building the solution for years with no issues. I have made no changes to visual studio, our program, or ARv11.

And now, I am receiving the following message with trying to compile.

I am not sure how after not having issues for years, not changing AR or VS, now my license file has an issue.

I have removed the reference to the DLL in question and readded - no luck.

    What does the error mean?

    Hello,

Can you please try following things and check if it work at your end:

1: Remove the version, culture and publicKeytoken information from the license entry

    Or

2: Remove the full entry from the Licenses.licx file.

    Or

    3. Set the CopyLocal of the Designer dll to true.

Also, can you check with the “EndUserDesigner” product sample (Located at C:\Users\USerNAme\Documents\GrapeCity Samples\ActiveReports 11\Professional\EndUserDesigner) and see if it is build successfully or not.

    Thanks,

    Mohit

I was able to get it work.

When i completely removed the entry, it would build, but when i ran the software and tried to get into the designer, that failed (said it was a trial).

I deactivated the license from the AR License manger, and then entered the license key again. I opened the program, removed the reference to the AR Designer (error during build), added the reference back, built, error during run, edited the licenses.licx and added the line back in for the designer, built the program, and everything worked.

Who knows which of those 5 steps made it work, but it is working now.

    THanks.
