No report menu in VS 2013 with ActiveReports 9

  [activereports_archive]I am trying to load an .rpx file into a c# code-based report as described in http://helpcentral.componentone.com/netHelp/AR9/SaveandLoadReportLayoutFilesRPX.html, “To load an RPX file at design time”. However, there is no report menu in visual studio. I have an empty report open in the design viewer. How do I get this menu to show up?[/activereports_archive]

  [activereports_archive]can u put a screenshot here please?

  Are you able to add a new report through the “Add New Item” dialog?

  Can you open the vs as admin (right click, Run as Administrator)

  I am assuming you are using pro/std/ultimate edition of VS. I am also assuming that an AR report is the active file open in design view in the IDE.

  Yep, I see ActiveReports 9 items in the Add New Item dialog (that’s how I created the report in the screenshot).

  One unusual thing I noticed while trying to verify my installation according to the “Installed Files” section of the user guide… ActiveReports does not show up in the list of installed items in the VS about box. I didn’t notice anything unusual during the install though… seemed to go fine.

  [activereports_archive]Did you run the ar9 installer as admin? If not can you try that please.

  The other thing would be to run devenv /setup from vs command line with command line being run as admin.

  Also, if you have product installed, go to one of the samples (for example: C:\Users\you\Documents\ComponentOne Samples\ActiveReports 9\Section Reports\Layout\AnnualReport
  
  and load the report in VS and check or create a new project and check.

  that will eliminate that particular project as an issue.[/activereports_archive]

  i am facing the same issue . i have installed active report v12 but it is not showing up in "Add New Item " dialog. I can edit already created report that was created on college’s system.
