When I export a report to PDF with a UserPassword value, then email it to a gmail account, when I click the attachment to open, it prompts me for the password. I enter it, but it says the password is incorrect. However, if I first download the PDF, then open it, then after I enter the password, it opens.
I thought it was a gmail quirk, but then from Word, I saved a doc as PDF with password protection. I emailed it to gmail, clicked it, entered the password, and it opened fine without having to download the file. So the password protection in your software works differently.
Some of our customers aren’t too savvy and don’t know to download the PDF first. And those that do, don’t want to bother, and want to click on the file and enter the password, as they do with other PDFs. Is this a bug in your product or is there a way we can get around this?
