I saw in another post that Mohit said that AR12 won’t work with VS2019 at all? I am not quite sure what it is that won’t work, but is there any work around? How is it that 2016 C1 WinForms components seem to work with newer VS versions but AR does not?

I am getting the performance issue with VS2017 and WinForms that MS seems to have fixed in 2019 and I would like to move to 2019.

    Regards

    Hello Brian,

Actually, AR12 does not integrate with VS2019. You are not able to see the AR templates in VS2019(likes AR project templates, AR Item templates, AR options in VS menu bar). Also, there is no way to integrate AR12 with visual studio 2019.

As per our policy, we don’t extend environment support to older versions. So you need to upgrade to our latest version .i.e AR13 SP2.

However, you can run the existing project in VS2019 and can do changes in your code part, not in the design layout.

Regarding C1, AR and C1 both are completely different products. They have different polices and they both integerate with VS in different ways. Also, old C1 installer is not fully compatible with VS2019. You can refer the following link:

    https://www.grapecity.com/forums/winforms-edition/c1studio-and-visual-studio

For C1 also, you need to use the latest version of installer for VS2019 which is fully compatabile with VS2019.

    Hope it clarifies.

    Thanks,

    Mohit
