    Hello,

We have an odd case where when we email XLSX generated reports, we cannot download the XLSX file through OWA. It works OK on other email clients.

We tried with other XLSX reports (not generated by AR) and they all seem to work through OWA.

Easy way to reproduce is to attach the included attachments in an email. Open the email through OWA and try to download the attachments. The AR generated XLSX becomes corrupted, while the other works just fine. Open the email in Outlook, and both can be downloaded successfully.

My initial investigation led me to an OWA feature called SafeHTML. Attempting to disable this feature still didn’t resolve the issue. There appears to be something in the AR generated XLSX that OWA doesn’t like.

    AR v10

    Exchange-OWA 2010

    Thanks,

    Adrian

    Hello,

I am unable to reproduce the issue at my end with the attached excel. We also use the "Office 365’ for the mailing purpose. I mailed the attached file to one of my colleagues and excel file opened successfully at his end. There may be a security setting in your OWA. Please contact with your administration department to know the detail. Also, please share the detail with us so that, we can try to replicate the issue at our end.

    Thanks,

Ya, it’s not the easiest of environments to setup to reproduce this issue, considering it’s pretty old. I am running a local instance of Exchange 2010 in a virtual machine, so it’s all in a testing environment, no admins. Office 365 works fine, it’s just OWA in Exchange 2010.

Anyways, it’s OK, this is a pretty minor issue so I’m not all too concerned about it. I just thought maybe you were aware and had a quick fix.

    Thank you for your time.

    Hello,

Could you please try after changing the different values of “OpenXmlStandard” property.

    Thanks,

I tried changing OpenXmlStandard from Transitional to Strict and it does seem to work in OWA. However, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to switch to using Strict as the documentation states that this standard is not supported for Office 2007 and lower. I’ve attached the output files to possibly check for differences.

Hello, just wondering if there’s any update on this?

    Hello,

Our development team does not have the same environment to replicate the issue at their end. It will take some time to create the environment and investigating the root cause of the issue. However, as you said earlier this is the minor issue for you. so we consider this issue as the low priority.

    Thanks,
