Regarding sustenence of our Application

  Dear Sir/Madam,

  We have been using Spread3.0 control in our VB6.0 applicationi since long time (approx. 15 years).

  With the latest Operating system releases from Microsoft like WIN VISTA, WIN 7, WIN 8, WIN 2008 etc., and latest office application releases, We are worried about sustenence of our Application for next Five years. Till now, we have tested our application on all the latest OS and Office releases of Microsoft and found No issues with the application.

  Do you see any issues for sustenence of our application with future latest OS releases ? For example, for any OS release if MS stops support for OCX.

  If you see any issues, please let us know what will be the issues and resolutions for the same.

  Please let us know about sustenence of VB6.0 application with Spread control 3.0 is used in it.

  Hello Pavan,

  We have already stopped supporting Spread 3 COM. The latest version of Spread for COM is Spread 8. If you have a doubt about the support for OCX from MS, you may also create your applications with .Net , we have our latest version of Spread for .Net i.e. Spread 6.

  Hi Deepak,

   Thanks for quick reply. Converting VB6.0 application in VB.NET is the last choice for us.

  Is there any possibility, we can use .NET spread control in VB6.0 ?

  Pavan,

  We do not recommend using Spread .Net  in a VB6 application when there is already a Spread 8 activeX control which is specially designed to be used with VB6. However it is possible by creating a control library in .Net and then using it in VB6. I have no project or sample to demonstrate this to you as of now.

  Dear Mr.Pavan

  I have been using spread 3.0 in vb6.0 for last 10-15 years. There was crash in our server and my application requires the spread3.0 to get it up. Since i do not have a copy of that, i am unable to get my project running. How best can you help me on this please. If possible please provide me your mobile number.
