  Hi,
  
  I am using spread with react. I need to wrap text in cell, such that when content is more than width of cell, height of the cell should increase and content fit. When we expand columns the content should be flexible. How can i achieve that ?
  
  By the way, i have used sheet.getCell(0,0).wordWrap(true). But it didn’t worked.

  Hi,

  For this, you need to use the autoFitRow after setting the wordWrap to true. Please refer to the following code snippet and attached sample that demonstrated the same.

  
  sheet1
      .getCell(0, 0)
      .value("this is the long text which hase multiple lines ")
      .wordWrap(true);
   sheet1.autoFitRow(0);

  Hi can this property work in the following way

  without looping over the rows can it be automatically get applied on the cells which have text wrap applied in the underlying excel sheet.

  As the above approach would require the system to loop over all the rows and some of the sheets can have lakhs of rows

  Please help if any alternative is there

  Hi,

  As per the available options, the best approach to autofit the rows is to use the autoFitRow:https://developer.mescius.com/spreadjs/api/modules/GC.Spread.Sheets.Commands#autofitrow command, which can autofit multiple rows in a single run. However, it is required to generate the rows array as per the conditions of word wrap, which will require traversing over the cells.

  In this scenario, you can follow one of the following approaches:

  • Traverse over all the rows and find the cell containing word wrap. If a word wrap is found, push the row in the rows array and move to the next row. Please refer to Attachment 1 at the bottom, which works according to this approach.
  • Generate the array of rows irrespective of word wrap and autofit the rows. Please refer to Attachment 2 at the bottom, which works according to this approach.

  To further optimize the time consumed in the processing, we recommend you suspend the paint services before autofitting the rows and resume the services once autofitting is complete.
