Hi,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
According to the official Microsoft documentation, the latest available .NET Framework version is 4.8.1, so the information below is based on that. In general, older ComponentOne controls might still work on the newer framework, but since they were never officially tested, we cannot guarantee full compatibility. For a stable and supported setup, we strongly recommend upgrading to the latest version of ComponentOne for ASP.NET WebForms.
To migrate from C1.Web.UI.Controls.3 (v3.5.20102.188) to a version that supports ASP.NET WebForms on .NET Framework 4.8.1 (64-bit), please follow these steps:
- Install the latest ASP.NET WebForms edition of ComponentOne. Documentation link: https://developer.mescius.com/componentone/docs/webforms/online-gettingstarted/installationofwebfor…
Download the latest installer: https://developer.mescius.com/componentone/download
- Remove the older version C1 DLL references from your project and add the new v4.8 assemblies from the default installation path: C:\Program Files (x86)\MESCIUS\ComponentOne\ASP.NET Web Forms\bin\v4.8
- Since you are moving from a very old version, you may need to adjust your implementation based on the breaking changes listed here: https://developer.mescius.com/componentone/docs/webforms/online-releasehistory/releasehistory.html
Regarding licensing, older license keys will not work for the latest version, which you want to work with. You will need to purchase a new-format license key. You can contact our sales team for pricing and assistance:

Please note that ASP.NET WebForms is now considered legacy and no new development is taking place. For long-term support and newer features, we recommend migrating to ASP.NET MVC:

Please let us know if you need any further help.
Thanks & regards,
