Grouping does not work with hierarchical data

I use child-items-path to display versions for my file in the grid. When I want to group by a column for the file, I see files being grouped but the header for each grouped row does not show up. When the remove the child-items-path, the header shows up. What seems to be the issue? Please suggest.

    Hello everyone

    This is the design behavior.

When you use the childItemsPath property to show hierarchical data, the grid creates a tree made up of GroupRow nodes. Each node is a GroupRow with child items represented by other GroupRows.

Trying to show regular groups along with a tree like this would be very confusing at least.

If you think this makes sense, please provide a diagram showing what you would expect this grouped tree to look like. Regular groups with subtrees under each group? What if you had many levels of grouping? What if the hierarchical data contained child items that belonged to other groups?

I confess I can’t even picture what this would look like

    Hello,

We are looking to implement a Grid Layout something like below:

Here we require an hierarchical grid along with row-details, we were able to implement hierarchy and row-details individually, seems when we have “child-items-path” property, the row-details function is not working.

The weird thing is that it worked fine(both hierarchical and row-details) on wijmo@5.20162.198.

Please find attached the sample code that replicates the issue faced.

    rowdetail-tree-data (1).zip

    Please advise.

    Hi Wijmo Team,

We see the issue(unable to use row details in hierarchical grid) still exists for wijmo ‘5.20192.624’.

Attaching herewith sample .zip which contains 2 html’s one using 5.20173.409 where the feature was working, and the other one with 5.20192.624 where the feature is not working.
