    Hi,

I have an end user who is running our software on a Japanese Windows 10 PC. The tab captions are set for default font (Microsoft Sans Serif 8.25pt).

There does appear to be some adjustment in the horizontal font which is acceptable but we are totally losing the vertical text.

Any suggestions would be greatly received.

[An update from the customer is that it works correctly on Japanese Windows 8.1]

We are using C1 Studio for WinForms 2.0.20171.248

The attached image shows what we would see on a non Japanese PC and what we are seeing on the Japanese Windows 10 PC.

    Hi Steve,

Thanks for the detailed explanation. We created a similar sample with both top and right aligned tabs and executed them in English and Japanese environments. However, we could not replicate the mentioned issue in the Japanese environment. Please refer the attached sample. The attached screenshots show how the sample’s exe as well as the direct execution of the sample in the Japanese Windows 10 environment looks like.

We request you to modify the same in order to replicate the issue or share your own sample. This will help us observe the issue closely and help you in the best possible manner.

    Best Regards,

    Esha

    Hi Esha,

Thanks for the very quick response.

i have replicated your program and ran it on the customers Japanese Windows 10 PC.

The program works whereas our main application does not.

The difference may be that the test program is built with C1 release 2.0.171.248 and the main application was built with 2.0.20162.188.

I do have a beta version of the application which was built with a later version so I shall give that a try.

    Thanks for your help

    Regards

    Steve

I rebuilt our application using 2.0.171.248. I also put the logic from the test program into our main application. Both the main application and the test application now give blank vertical tab labels.

I did find that setting the application compatibility to “Disable display scaling on high DPI systems” allowed the program to work correctly.

I cannot yet determine why the standalone test program works correctly and the main application requires the compatibility setting.

    Hi Steve,

We built the application shared above with 2.0.20171.248 version dlls but the issue still could not be reproduced.

Also, we ran the exe on a high dpi environment with resolution 1920 x 1080 and it still worked fine by showing the left aligned caption text properly.

Since only the specific JP environment needs the particular setting to be checked before viewing the captions properly, can you provide us with the resolution of the system at your end where the issue is observed? This will help us assist you further.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Esha

    Hi Esha,

Again I thank you for your quick response.

The resolution of the system showing the problem was 1920 x 1080.

Because I have “found a solution” the end user has now moved the PC onto a production plant to which I unfortunately have no further access. If I do manage to get to perform any further tests I will let you know.

    Thanks and regards

    Steve
