Win10 Pro x64 running ComponentOne Studio Live 2.1.20173.52227
It shows I currently have ComponentOne Studio for WinForms (.NET 4.0) 4.0.20163.212. I am attempting to update to 4.0.20173.291.
The status shows ‘Failed’ with the error: “Cannot find file “bin\v4.0\sv\C1.Win.FlexPivot.4.resources.dll” in downloaded zip file.”
How can I solve this problem?

I have forwarded the issue to the developers on high priority.
In the meantime, you can download 2017 v3 installer from the link below and install the product on your machine:

The installer you linked to is for v4.0.20173.282. It looks like there is a hotfix available that is for v4.0.20173.291. Can you point me to a direct installer for that version?
Is there some kind of configuration not set properly that the Live update download is not including the Swedish (sv) language?

Hi,
Yes, it’s a bug. We are investigating this at our end.
Please try using the following installer which is designed only for WinForms Edition (v4.0.20173.291):

Before this, it is suggested that you uninstall WinForms Edition to ensure clean installation. You can learn about the same from here:

I’m having a similar problem. Server 2016 Standard x64 running ComponentOne Studio Live 2.1.20173.52227. I have 4.0.20151.38 installed with an available update to 4.0.20172.271, but the update fails with the same error: “Cannot find file “bin\v4.0\sv\C1.Win.FlexPivot.4.resources.dll” in downloaded zip file.”
What steps should I take?

Hello,
Please use the ControlPanel utility to upgrade to 17V2 version of ComponentOne controls. You can download it from here: https://prod-cdn.grapecity.com/c1installer/Installers/2019v1/ComponentOneControlPanel20191.1.24.exe
Open ControlPanel and click on the “Change/Repair Version” button of a particular edition, say, WinForms(see “ChangeRepair.png”).
A dialog will pop up for you to select the version (see “Version.png”). From the list, choose “20172.x.x” and click “Change”.
When the update is complete, the newer version should be installed at your end.

I have the same problem. C1LiveUI.2, Version 2.1.20173.52227. I have ComponentOne Studio for WinForms (.NET 4.0) 4.0.20163.212 2016.V3. Available update to 4.0.20163.226, but the update fails with the error: “Cannot find file “bin\v4.0\sv\C1.Win.FlexPivot.4.resources.dll” in downloaded zip file.”

Hello,
Please use the latest ComponetOneControlPanel utility(version 2019.3.1.8) to upgrade to 16V3 version of ComponentOne controls. You can download the utility from here: https://www.grapecity.com/download/componentone
Open ControlPanel then select your suitable version and Framework information from the dropdown and click on the “Change/Repair Version” button of a particular edition, say, WinForms.
When the update is completed, the newer version should be installed at your end.
