Designer problem

    Hello C1

After some years away form C1, I am now evaluating the Winforms control package, especially the Ribbon and associated controls. Version 709

However, when I add a control from the toolbox it appears on the form, but nothing is created in the Designer.cs. If I add the control manually to the Designer.cs it will show up inte the form when opening it in the designer. But it is not easy to create a nice ribbon that way.

Have reinstalled the C1-package, also took a “clean”-machine and installed everything, same problem.

    Virtual VMWare, Win11, VS2022. Net8.

Any hint about what is wrong here?

    Hello,

We’re sorry but we could not replicate the behavior you have mentioned. After adding the C1.Win.Ribbon NuGet package, we were able to add a ribbon on the designer as expected. Please refer to the attached video and sample.

    Video: https://drive.mescius.io/download?file=ExternalShare/WinForms/Videos/AddingRibbonToDesigner.zip

    Sample: Ribbon_Sample.zip

Please let us know if we are missing anything here.

Could you please share a sample or a video showing the steps you take to add the ribbon to the designer, similar to what we shared? This will help us investigate the issue further.

    Regards,

    Uttkarsh.

    Hello.

If I do it as you do in your example, it works fine.

However, I also intend to use the Spread.Net in my future application.

As soon as I install the GrapeCitySpread.Winforms package, the problem occurs as described.

Only installed the package, did not use any control (yet).

    Regards

    Peo

    Hello Peo,

Thank you for sharing more details.

The behavior has already been escalated to the development team and is currently under discussion. Rest assured, we’ll keep you updated with any important information.

Until then you can use Ribbon in code-behind.
