  I’m having a problem when I run the ComponentOneControlPanel20191.1.24.exe. I get the error checking updates popup. It is attached. I have seen the error here mentioned for other versions, but not this one. Is there a generic or specific fix for this?

  You can download the latest ComponentOneControlPanel utility version 20193.1.8 from the following link :
  
  https://www.grapecity.com/download/componentone-studio

  When running the utility, you can select the appropriate Framework and Version information to update your controls.
