Is there a way to get the expression editor panel control to show the alias names rather than the field names when attached to a data source.

Hello,
Our devs need the following information to further investigate on this:
1: You want aliases simply be displayed in the ExpressionEditorPanel instead of field names? or
2: You want the expression to also substitute aliases instead of field names?
Please provide the required information.

Prabhat Sharma.

Ideally both - if the user is seeing the column’s caption text, that will not necessarily equate to the underlying field name, listing and working with an alias that matches the column’s caption text would avoid confusion to the end user.

I have got around this by implementing the ItypedList interface - see the example under my other post @ https://www.grapecity.com/forums/winforms-edition/c1calcengine-vs-c1expressi

Hello,
We are happy to share that with the recently released ComponentOne 2020v3 (*.20203.468) aliases will be shown instead of field names in ExpressionEditor(IntelliAutoCompletion) and ExpressionEditorPanel. However, both values will be correct in the expression…
So, you are requested to upgrade your assemblies using ComponentOneControlPanel utility and verify that the fix works for you. Should you face any problem, feel free to let us know.
