  I recently upgraded to the latest 4.0.20192.398 WinForms builds and am getting the following exception after previewing a report and returning to design mode. The report previews just fine:

  Could not load file or assembly C1.Win.Bitmap.4 Version 4.0.20193.398 or one of its dependencies. The located assembly’s manifest definition does not match the assembly reference.

  I was not having this problem with an earlier 2019 release.

  Hello,

  It seems that your Apps folder is missing C1.Win.Bitmap.4.dll.
  
  Please add the attached dll of version 4.0.20193.398 and corresponding xml file to the same.
  
  This should resolve the issue for you.

  I had thought the same thing prior to submitting the post, unfortunately, the Apps folder (completely populated via the ComponentOne installer) already contains C1.Win.Bitmap.4.dll.

  Could this be a GAC cache issue?

  Yes, this could be possible so please clear the GAC and try again.

  Note: Please make sure the FlexReportDesigner application and dlls in the Apps folders are of the same build version.

  I ended up completely removing all entries from the GAC, uninstalling C1, and manually removing the ComponentOne folder.

  Using the ComponentOne Control Panel, I installed Winforms Edition (4.0 + 4.5.2) for version 20193.1.393 and the MVC Edition (4.0 + 4.5.2) for version 20193.1.258.

  When the Common Files was being downloaded and installed, the Apps folder was created and the Report Designers were installed.

  Much to my surprise, the installed FlexReportDesigner is version 4.0.20192.398 where as my C1.Win.Bitmap.4 is version 20193.1.393. The crash occurred after previewing.

  I then used the Update functionality of the C1 Control Panel and updated Winforms to 4.0.20192.398. I was forced to download the Applications and Other Products ZIP and copy the files manually.
  
  After the update - all is well and I can preview w/o crashing.

  Bottom Line: There is something wrong with the C1 Control Panel installations

  It is good to hear that the problem has been solved at your end.

  Although we do uninstall the ComponentOne completely and install the latest version from the latest ComponentOneControlPanel utility i.e. downloaded from the given link:

  If you want to use the latest hotfix builds i.e. 20193.398 then you can download it from the given link and change the respective Apps and bin folders with the existing folders on the given location:
  
  http://prerelease.componentone.com/hotfixindex.html
  
  C:\Program Files (x86)\ComponentOne
  
  C:\Program Files (x86)\ComponentOne\WinForms Edition

  Note: To run the designer applications correctly it is mandatory to have the same build version dlls in the Apps folder as per the version of the designer application.
