We are in need of a way to show details for only a single (or user selected few) items in a report.

    Example:

Report starts as a summary “Total Sales By Day” report. The use wants to look at details ONLY for one day in the month because it seemed low.

We can make it show details for ALL days using subreports or grouping and changing visibility of those, but not for a single day, based on user’s chosen item.

    Is this possible?

    Hi Ruiz,

You can use the Cascading Parameter feature of FlexReport to achieve your desired result.

    https://www.grapecity.com/componentone/docs/win/online-flexreport/AddCascadingParameters.html?highlight=cascading%2C

You can also look at the Cascading Parameters report in the FlexCommonTasks.flxr which is located at:

Thanks for the reply and suggestion on using Cascading Parameters. While this is a nice feature and certainly has value, it is not what we are looking to achieve.

We are wanting to expand detail for a single “record” where the original results show grouped data (total sales, or sales by category, for example).

Expanding the single record shows details, without having to re-render the entire report.
