Hide some RibbonButtons from C1Ribbon in Simplified View

    Hi,

at the moment we’re updating our application from the old legacy C1Ribbon to the new one. We’re thinking about allowing the user to choose the simplified view of the ribbon.

But at the moment I’ve found no way to select the items I’d like to show in simplified view. In ViewMode full we’ve important items and less important items. When the user chooses the simplified view, I want to hide the less important items (or show them only in the “more…” DropDown).

So what I am missing is an additional property ShowInSimplifiedView for the RibbonItems. That would give me full control over the appearance of the ribbon.

It would be great, if you could add this feature!

    Best regards,

    Juergen

    Hi,

The latest 22v3 release includes the ShowInSimplified property for the RibbonItems. You can use this property to manage what RibbonItems can be shown in the Simplified View.

Please update to the latest release and let us know if you face any issues.

    Hi Avnish,

I’ve just tried out the new feature and it works fine, the simplified Ribbon can perfectly be reduced to the most important items.

I’ve just one suggestion: if I set ShowInSimplified to false, the Button disappears completely from the menu, it is also not shown in the “overflow” menu (with the 3 dots). The “lesser important” items, which I’d like to hide in the simplified view are still valid items, which are needed from time to time. Right now, if I want to invoke such an item, I have to show the full ribbon, press the button and turn on the simplified view again. If the hidden item would be visible in the overflow menu, it would be more convenient for the user. (If possible, there could also be an overflow menu for each RibbonGroup for these items to have them near to their original position.)

Or - to meet all possible use cases - you could change the type of the property ShowInSimplified from boolean to an enum: ShowAlways, ShowInOverflowMenu, Hide.

It’s just a suggestion for an improvement, thanks for adding this feature anyway!

    Kind regards,

    Juergen
