    Hi C1,

just noticed that the nuget packages also contain “4.8” versions of the dlls.

What are the differences compared to 4.5.2? Are there plans to discontinue the 4.5.2 branch?

    Best regards

    Wolfgang

    Hi Wolfgang,

The .NET Framework 4.8 C1 controls are released with the latest 2022v1 hotfix release. The main benefit of updating to .NET Framework 4.8 controls will be intrinsic performance improvements and high-resolution/DPI support.

We will continue to support the .NET Framework 4.5.2 version of C1 controls for the foreseeable future, but you can expect that eventually, new features and controls will only be released in .NET Framework 4.8 and higher.

You can refer to the blog ComponentOne Roadmap 2022 from the link below, which mentions the same.

Thanks for the clarification. As our application uses already 4.8, I will upgrade to the new version soon.

It seems there is no installer available. The ComponentOneControlPanel did not provide me an option to pick the 4.8 components:

As our application does not use NuGet packages, I need the files locally installed on my machine.

But I found the dlls on the prerelease site, so I worked around the missing installer: https://prerelease.componentone.com/hotfix

    Best regards

    Hi Wolfgang,

The .NET FW 4.8 C1 controls will be available for download through ComponentOne Control Panel starting from the 2022v2 release.

    Best Regards,

    Kartik
