    Hi!

I am using the .NET 4.0 version of Winforms edition for some years.

After upgrading to Visual Studio 2019 I am no longer able to use the designer for a C1DockingTab.

The designer opens and I can select the C1DockingTab but I cannot change tabs to make changes on other tabs but the first.

I am able to reproduce this with the RenamingTabs-Example.

Here are some screenshots to show the consistent usage of the same version.

I tried to apply the tips from https://www.grapecity.com/forums/winforms-edition/unable-to-open-in-design-m#hiin-order-to-resolve-the- but to no avail.

What else can I try to use the designer properly?

    Thanks, Markus

    Hello mohitg,

thank you for looking into this issue. I can see in your video that the designer is behaving as it should.

I updated to the newest winforms components (4.0.20191.363) using a trial license and I updated Visual Studio 2019 to version 16.1.6.

The behavior of the designer is still the same.

Is there anything else I can try or can I provide additional information?

    Thanks, Markus

    Hello,

Could you please try after uninstalling the C1 and installing the C1 using the latest installer.

Please clear the cache of the visual studio before installing the C1 studio.

    Thanks.

Ok, I went back to a snapshot where C1 was not yet installed (my Windows is running in VirtualBox), updated Windows and Visual Studio.

Then I installed C1 using the latest installer (ComponentOneControlPanel20191.1.24.exe) and updated WinForms (2.0 and 4.0) to 20191.363.

Then I opened the example RenamingTabs.sln in Visual Studio, removed and re-added the reference to C1.Win.C1Command.4 and added all dlls in C:\Program Files (x86)\ComponentOne\WinForms Edition\bin\v4.0 to the toolbox in Visual Studio.

After all this the designer ist still not working properly.

Is it perhaps related to the deprecated API of Visual Studio?

    Hello Markus,

Sorry for the delay. We are waiting for the 2019V2 installer which includes some fix against VS 2019.

    Thanks for your patience.

    Hello Mohit,

I updated to version 20192.375 but the behavior is still the same.

It starts to get annoying to edit the designer.cs-files manually just because I cannot switch to other tabs in the designer.

If you need more information from my side please let me know.

    Regards, Markus
