    Hello,

we’re currently in evaluation of upgrading our application from .NET Framework 4.5.2 to 4.8.

As of now, we’re using ComponentONE 2015.2.2.22 with DLLs for Framework 4.0.

If we switch to Framework 4…8, do we have to upgrade/update the ComponentONE References as well?

    Regards,

    Markus

    Hi Markus,

The .NET4.0 C1 DLLs are supported in .NET Framework 4.8 projects, and it is not mandatory to update the ComponentOne references with the project.

However, we recommend that you migrate to the latest .NET4.8 C1 DLLs, as the .NET4.0 C1 DLLs are old and already out of support, meaning that they will not receive any new feature updates/bug fixes.

    Best Regards,

    Kartik

    Hi Kartik,

thanks for the update. Do we need a new license for the C1 .NET4.8 DLLs?

If not, where can I get them?

    Best Regards,

    Markus

    Hi Markus,

The C1 .NET4.8 DLLs were introduced in the 2022v2 (566) release and you will need to purchase a new license to use the latest version of these DLLs. To purchase a new license, you can contact the sales team at

    Tel: 1.800.858.2739 | 412.681.4343;

    Fax: 412.681.4384

    Email: us.sales@grapecity.com

If you want to test the C1 .NET4.8 DLLs before the purchase, you can deactivate your license and uninstall the current version of C1 controls in your system. Then, you can install the latest version (2022v3) using ComponentOne Control Panel which will automatically activate a 30-day trial period that you can use to test out the C1 .NET4.8 DLLs. You can also do the same on a fresh machine.

    (ComponentOne Control Panel: https://www.grapecity.com/componentone/download)

    Best Regards,

    Kartik
