The designer could not be shown for this file because none of the classes within it can be designed. – this is absolutely false, as the designer has been used before, and the forms within it work just fine during builds and runs. But editing it now is impossible.

Upon googling, many older posts about this topic on microsoft’s forums claim that the “solution” is to unload any 3rd party components you are using, which is also impossible, since we’re only using grape city’s components for our forms.

If using the forms editor in visual studio 2022 is impossible, are there any alternatives to editing through visual studio 2022?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello Michael,

This issue generally occurs when the version used in your project is different from the one installed on your machine but in order to investigate this issue further, we will be needing the following information from your end:

What are the GrapeCity controls you are using in your project?

What version of GrapeCity controls you are using?

Are you facing the same issue when creating a new stripped-down sample using GrapeCity controls?

In case if you can share the stripped-down sample replicating the issue then it will save a lot of time on our end for the investigation.

Note: As it is a public forum so if you are not comfortable sharing your stripped-down project here, you can create a new support case on our private portal:

    Regards,

Thanks for your reply – i’ll open a support ticket, some of this stuff is NDA at least. But the number of components are numerous. I’ll put more detail in the ticket.
