    Hi,

We’ve downloaded, installed and activated the Winforms edition, but we’re receiving this message during builds.

EXEC : warning : License for ComponentOne Studio Enterprise is successfully generated. Details: Trial License Activated

    (30 days left)

Do we need purchase a separate license for ComponentOne Studio Enterprise to build? If not, how do we get rid of this message?

    Hello,

Whenever you install any edition of ComponentOne like WinForms or WPF first time on a machine, the 30 days trial of ComponentOne Enterprise is automatically activated to evaluate all the versions.

As you have the WinForms Edition license so you do need not to buy any additional license to use the WinForms controls. Just activate the license using the GrapeCity License Manager tool in your respective section as suggested here:

    https://www.grapecity.com/componentone/docs/license/online-license/activating-serial-key.html

If you have created your project during the trial, then it might be possible that your .gclicx file may contain Studio Enterprise trial entries which might cause the issue at your end. Please remove the existing .gclicx file from your machine and create a new one as suggested here:

    https://www.grapecity.com/componentone/docs/license/online-license/create-runtime-license.html

Also if you are using any old version controls or 4.0/2.0 FW controls then you need to generate the old format license in your machine as suggested in the given link:

    https://www.grapecity.com/componentone/docs/license/online-license/licensing-old-controls-with-new-serial-key.html

    Hi,

We’ve purchased the plugin license, manually generated the .gclicx files and embedded them in the project.

We’re still seeing the “EXEC : warning : License for ComponentOne Studio Enterprise is successfully generated” message. Additionally, it’s overriding the embedded gclicx file in the DLL.

Is there a way to deactivate the trial or stop the automatic generation?

    Hello Madeline,

Thank you for purchasing the Plugin license.

If your project has been built before activating the plugin key on the machine then you must delete the existing .gclicx file from your project and keep using the new one only which you are generating using the GCLM tool.

If you are using the FW controls then the .gclicx file will be automatically created once you drop the controls on the form and when using the .NET6 controls, the .gclicx file will be automatically created whenever you build the project. This automatic generation can not be stopped.

When you install any of the editions from the ComponentOneControlPanel utility, the 30 days trial for Studio Enterprise will be automatically activated to test any of the editions and it can not be removed. Once you activate the license for WPF, WinForms then you need not remove this trial and you can build your project using the activated license.

    I hope it helps.

In case you need any other help, please feel free to ask.

    Regards,

    Prabhat Sharma.
